Artist, Catherine Byrne

I've known Catherine for quiet a few years and I am happy to share her beautiful work I am just seeing for the first time.

Catherine is an amazingly talented clothing designer, specializing in children's clothing, where she started the company Growing Muses. I once shared in this blog her adorable colored fleece scarves made of all sorts of critters. With her background in Fashion Design, earning a degree from Parson's School of Design in NYC, she has a broad spectrum of experience in the fashion industry.

But she recently has gone back to her roots as an artist, drawing and painting. Maybe it was always there, but she has shared it with all of us on her new site. catherinepbyrne.com

Charcoal pencil portraits. Even though her style is quick strokes of the pencil, she is able to capture the character and emotion of the subject.

Some examples of her paintings, architecture and landscape of small town New England.
I love the soft warm glow these paintings have possibly near sunset.
