Artist
and Framingham State Graphic arts teacher, Laura Osterweis, had a large
collection of lipstick she accumulated from her favorite make up counter.
With the help of a teacher she pursued something she had thought about doing,
creating art with her lipstick. For tools she uses her fingers (Laura said she always loved to finger paint), make up applicators and a blending tortillion. She has learned the best canvas is water color
paper, painted with Gesso as a primer. This would keep the lipstick lasting as long as it
could. But not forever. As with wearing lipstick, it’s not meant to be forever.
